Michelle Valberg has built a reputation for capturing unnoticed details that change our perception and extraordinary moments that alter our perspective.
Internationally renowned and sought after as a wildlife, landscape and portrait photographer, Michelle’s images have been showcased in exhibits across North America. In Ottawa, her work was the subject of a critically acclaimed three-month solo exhibition at the Canadian Museum of Nature. Extensively, her work is exhibited in Canadian Embassies and Chanceries all over the world.
Michelle’s images have been featured in numerous international advertisements, publications and magazines such as National Geographic, The London Tribune, Travel Life, More Magazine, Canadian Geographic and InStyle. She is also a regular contributor to PhotoNews magazine.
Michelle is a Nikon Ambassador and the first Canadian Geographic Photographer-in-Residence. Her iconic image of an Inuk drum dancer appears on a Royal Canadian Mint coin and she had a booklet of Canada Post stamps released in 2019.
Although Michelle has traveled to all 7 continents, she is particularly known for her passion for Canada’s Arctic having made 60 trips to the far north. With her ardent passion for exploring and photographing the world, she works as a resource photographer for Adventure Canada, Frontiers North Adventures, Regent Seven Seas and Abercrombie & Kent.
A tireless philanthropist, Michelle founded Project North in 2009, a not-for-profit organization committed to delivering education and sport-based opportunities to youth in Canada’s Arctic. Since its inception, over $1,000,000 dollars of new sporting equipment has been delivered to more than 26 Inuit communities.
