The Nature Photographer by NANPA - Preparing for a Photo Trip with Dawn Wilson

How do you plan, prepare, and pack for a photography trip? Whether it’s driving or hiking to a nearby spot or traveling half way around the world, a lot of thought and preparation should go into your trip. NANPA’s immediate past-president, Dawn Wilson, joins the Wild and Exposed crew of Jason Loftus, Ron Hayes and Michael Mauro to talk about what each has learned about planning and preparation. Sometime the tips lean towards common sense, some are specific to traveling for photography. Some tips were acquired easily and others are the result of painful experience.

In this episode of The Nature Photographer on Wild and Exposed, you’ll get tips about planning flights, figuring out the most efficient combination of gear that will keep your pack light while giving you the opportunities to get the images you want, and what to look for in a guide. Plus, you’ll learn why you should always have your muck boots with you and what can happen when you don’t.
