Mark's Amazing Trip to Australia!
Fresh off of 2-weeks touring the South Island of New Zealand (last podcast) Mark and Pili fly to Brisbane, Australia in the beginning of December (the start of Australia’s summer season) for a week long whirlwind adventure!
Mark definitely put his action camera’s waterproof housing to the test! And he was smart enough to cover up and protect himself from sunburn….well, almost…
The bird life and marine life around Australia was truly incredible! What a beautiful country!

It begins with a 5 hour drive north from Brisbane to the town of Bundaburg, for a very moving experience at the Mon Repos Turtle Centre, where they met and learnt about the endangered Loggerhead Sea Turtle. They witnessed a gigantic 50 year old female emerge from the moonlit surf to lay her clutch of eggs on the beach mere feet away!
The next day they set out to sea on a boat tour (2 hours from the mainland) to Lady Musgrave Island, the southernmost tip of the Great Barrier Reef! Once at their destination they snorkelled for the day, surrounded by countless species of schooling fish as well as a handful of totally chill green sea turtles! Mark definitely put his action camera’s waterproof housing to the test! And he was smart enough to cover up and protect himself from sunburn….well, almost…
